[HAWAII • Oahu] Creating an Effective Illustration Promo

Date(s) - 08/11/2018
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Da Shop Bookstore | Bess Press Publishing
3565 Harding Ave - Honolulu, Hawaii 96816

Illustrators face the same challenge as writers when it comes to getting their work noticed and out of the slush pile.

A promo must catch an art director or editor’s attention at first glance. This workshop will provide suggestions on how to create an effective image for promotional material.

Topics covered include identifying the different markets of illustration, theme and composition of the image and basic design concepts.

Attendees are welcome to bring images they are currently working on for hands-on tips or a critique in a group setting. One on one or group setting tips on how to organize your portfolio to deliver the best impact, with your existing images, will also be offered if time permits.
